Wambina Nature Reserve protects the headwaters of the Erina Creek catchment. It includes a variety of habitats from rainforest gullies to wooded ridges and open forest. Access is via a management trail that starts at the end of Matcham Road. There are no formal walking tracks and access to the sensitive rainforest gully is discouraged. This isn't a problem as like all sites where habitats merge the boundaries usually offer the best opportunities to see and photograph the birds.
